In January of 2022, mutual friends of Hannah and JD were getting married in New Orleans. Hannah was excited to spend the weekend in Nola with her friends since she had never been, and JD was a groomsman looking for a wedding date! About a month before the wedding, another one of their mutual friends mentioned to each of them that they’re both single and might be a good match. A few days later, JD DM’d Hannah on Instagram saying “I heard you need a date for the wedding.” They started chatting a little, and soon met for the first time on January 17, 2022. From basically their first moments on Bourbon Street they were inseparable. After the wedding weekend was over Hannah continued the conversation via text and they made plans to see each other again in February. Hannah flew down to Houston, they went on their first “official” date and knew they wanted to continue seeing each other. 

On March 20th, JD decided to make things official and ask Hannah to be his girlfriend. From there they started their year long long-distance relationship. While it wasn’t ideal, they made the effort to see each other as much as possible and cherish the times they got to spend together. They made plans for their future with no idea how soon that future would be! In April 2023, Hannah finally decided to move down to Houston and transform JD’s house into their home together.

After almost a year of living together, JD decided he wanted to ask Hannah to marry him. He made a plan and talked to Hannah’s dad on a trip to Home Depot when her family came down to visit in October. It was an easy yes for Kevin to approve of their future! He knew his daughter was in good hands.

Fast forward to January 19, 2024 when the couple got some exciting news… They were having their first baby girl! Overwhelmed and excited with the news, Hannah was very distracted for the next few weeks to say the least. They both got COVID and were sick, then had to rally for a trip to Dallas to celebrate another friend’s engagement. Or so they thought… On February 3rd JD was out with his friends getting the celebratory weekend started while Hannah was back in the hotel with morning sickness. That afternoon she had a Galentine’s photoshoot with some friends at the park before going to dinner with everyone. Once she arrived to the park, she noticed that no one was there except for their friend taking the photos. She asked where everyone was and then saw a beautiful diamond ring sitting on a table set up. Then it slowly hit her. This was HER engagement! JD took Hannah over to the table and blanket set up, got on one knee, and proposed. From there he had all their friends and family waiting at her favorite bar down the road! It was the best day ever!

Once Hannah and JD got home, they were talking about what they wanted to do for a wedding. Their 2 year anniversary was coming up and decided it would be fun to elope! So that’s what they did. On March 20, 2024 they went to a lawyers office to get married! They had a photographer tag along to take photos of the eventful afternoon. But they knew they still wanted to do a full celebration with the people in their lives who mattered the most. And their baby girl!
